While I wanted to present to the group how Carmichael Patch is an online newspaper that seeks to foster community dialogue on important issues, I more importantly wanted to learn more about one of Carmichael's great organizations.

The Rotary Club of Carmichael, which has about 30 members, was founded in 1948. They host an annual crab feed that benefits Carmichael-area charities and also sponsor college scholarships for students at .
On June 8, the club will host a golf tournament that raises about $50,000 each year for the Easter Seals organization.
