Community Reacts To Osama bin Laden Death

County representatives voice their reactions to the death of a terrorist.

With the news of Osama bin Laden’s death flooding the internet, it is undoubted local reactions will range, but one thing can remain certain: Like President Barack Obama has said, though bin Laden’s death marks the most significant achievement to date in our nation’s effort to defeat Al Qaeda, it is not the end of the effort.

Many Sacramentans as well as those whose influence help shape the city and its communities, including Fair Oaks took to the Twitterverse, and other social media, voicing their reactions to the news heard round the world.

The news gave many elected officials the opportunity to voice their positions on the war on terror.

"This is a strong reminder that actionable intelligence is the key to success in these types of operations,” California 3rd District Congressman, Dan Lungren said on his website. “It is important we keep that in mind as we look at extending elements of the Patriot Act.”

While Fair Oaks reactions to the news were not like those dancers seen in the streets of Washington, D.C. and New York, it is likely everyone will feel the impact from Monday’s early morning events in their own way.
