Deputies Defuse Fight Between Skateboarding Teens and Driver
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of a fight on Wednesday, but no arrests were made.

On Wednesday, March 2, Fair Oaks Patch user e-mailed a question, asking about a disturbance on Farley Way. She asked:
“Today at 3:00 I believe two youths were arrested on Farley Way in Fair Oaks. Can you find out if that was a drug or burglary charge?”
It turns out the commotion she heard was in fact a fight that broke out on the 8600 block of Farley Way at about 2:20 p.m.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jason Ramos said deputies were called to Farley Way when a male, driving down Illinois Ave., came upon two teens skateboarding in the street.
“He alleged that they (the teens) failed to move out of the way,” Ramos said. “There was a verbal confrontation between them.”

According to the deputies report, after the teens failed to respond to the driver’s request to move the teens threatened to assault the man with their skateboards. It was at that point the driver informed the teens he was carrying a concealed firearm.
“One teen said the guy flashed a gun,” Ramos said. “The other teen said the guy just said he had a gun.”
Upon questioning the driver, deputies found out the man did in fact say he had been carrying a gun.
“He had told deputies it was in response to one of the teens threatening to hit him with his skateboard,” Ramos said.
The situation was mediated, Ramos said, and nobody was arrested.
“The parents of both teens were satisfied with the disposition of the incident by responding deputies,” Ramos said.
