DOMA Struck Down: Fair Oaks & Carmichael React
Same-sex marriage ban is ruled unconstitutional. What's your reaction?
Reactions flood social media as Californians respond to news that the U.S. Supreme Court struck down DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, in a 5-4 vote in a decision Wednesday morning.
The act had prohibited the U.S. government from recognizing same-sex marriage.
When we asked Fair Oaks and Carmichael Patch followers if the court got it right, here's what we heard:
"Yep on DOMA. They chickened out on Prop 8, but I'll take it!," one person wrote. Another wrote: "Absolutely!"
