Domino's Pizza Employee Shot During Attempted Robbery
Fair Oaks Blvd. store clerk's injuries not serious, manager says.

A Carmichael employee was shot during an attempted robbery Monday evening and was taken to a nearby hospital with non-serious injuries, the Fair Oaks Boulevard store's manager said.
At about 8:40 p.m., a man dressed in a grey sweater and dark pants and wearing a mask entered the shop at Fair Oaks and Sutter Avenue and fired at a male employee behind the front counter, said manager Chuck Wagaman. The employee was taken to .
"I'm a little nervous and shaken up a bit," said Wagaman, adding that his view of the counter was somewhat obstructed as he was in the store's office.

The suspect demanded money at gunpoint from an employee. The employee
was unable to open the cash register fast enough, at which point the suspect stepped backward and shot the employee once in the upper body, Sacramento County Sheriff's Dep. Jason Ramos said.
The suspect then fled on foot without obtaining any money, Ramos said. No vehicle was seen.

The clerk, in his mid-20s, sustained a very minor gunshot wound to his upper body, Ramos said. The employee was treated for his non-life threatening injury, and was expected to survive.
A search of the area for the suspect was conducted, with negative results.
The Domino's shop closed early following the attempted robbery, Wagaman said.
Sheriff’s detectives are trying to identify the suspect described as a white male, between 20-25 years old, about six feet tall with a thin build. He wore a black ski mask and black hooded jacket during the incident.
