The boys soccer team has gotten off to a great start, going undefeated at 8-0, scoring 29 goals and only giving up one goal entering today.
For an Eagles team that has made the section finals the past two seasons, it has been a continuation of the progress the program has made since Markam Cruz took over as coach.
"We've got a soccer vibe that's growing here," Cruz said. "We're getting good players from (area) club teams and our JV team is also undefeated and won the league last year."

Already, the varsity team has key wins at Folsom (2-0 on Sept. 7) and at Woodcreek of Roseville (1-0 on Friday). The lone goal given up came against Rosemont in a 9-1 win on Aug. 29.
"We're looking strong," said senior midfielder Eric Bates. "Our offense is looking good and our defense is picking up."

The Eagles' next game is today in Orangevale. But league matches loom against Cordova and , the latter which Bates said is their biggest rivalry games of the season.
"We've got room for improvement," said senior goalkeeper Johnny Whitelaw.
El Camino plays at Rio on Oct. 11 and the Raiders go to the Eagles' field on Oct. 27.
"It's going to be comeptitive," said junior sweeper Hayden Smith. "But we're not scared of them."
