El Camino Students See Dangers of Drunk Driving
Every 15 Minutes program recreates mock fatal crash scene.
Students at received a serious message last week that if you choose to drive while intoxicated, there can be deadly results.
A grim mock fatal crash scene was set up in El Camino's stadium on March 27 by the California Highway Patrol, Sacramento Metro Fire District representatives and Every 15 Minutes, an organization educating high school students on the dangers of driving while impaired.

The main message is that every 15 minutes someone is killed as a result of an alcohol-related driving collision.
To bring that message home, El Camino students were selected to participate in the scene, in which several students were killed and one was arrested.

An assembly was held March 28 and mock tombstones for the deceased students were placed on campus.
Similar events were held this past month at and in 2011 at in Fair Oaks.
