Events of the Day 5/15: Peters Fundraiser, Sheriff's Meeting, HS Sports Playoffs

Today's events of the day are a fundraiser for , a Sheriff's community meeting and high school sports playoffs in girls soccer, baseball and softball.

A reception honoring Peters, who is , which includes Carmichael will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the home of supporter Lawrence Garcia on Ard Aven Place. The cost is $250 per person.

Join the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department for a discussion of crime and related issues for the Carmichael community. The meeting is at 6:30 pm at the at 4925 Dewey Drive in Fair Oaks.

The playoffs are under way for Carmichael-area high schools.
