Fair Oaks Man Injured in Swimming Mishap Along American River
A 51-year-old Fair Oaks man was transported to Kaiser Roseville after sustaining minor injuries swimming in the American River.

A Fair Oaks man is recovering at Kaiser Roseville Hospital after sustaining minor injuries while swimming near Fair Oaks Bridge.
The 51-year-old man went out for a swim in the American River near Bridge Street when he dove into shallow waters, sustaining minor injuries to his neck and back, said Sacramento Metro Fire spokesman, Scott Cockrum.
The man left his home, telling his wife that he would be going swimming, Cockrum explained. When the man's son came home, didn't see his father in the home, he called his mother to alert her of the situation.

The mother, not knowing that her husband had already been recovered by Sac Metro Fire units, immediately called 911, informing officials that her husband had drowned.
Upon recovering the man, Sac Metro Fire units reported the man was conscious and complaining of aches and pains to his back, neck and knees, Cockrum said.
