We here at Fair Oaks Patch want you to weigh in on the matchups and let us know which teams you think will move on. The Broncos are one win away from making a championship berth at Power Balance Pavilion while both boys’ squads from Del Campo and Bella Vista await round two in the playoffs. One thing is certain, though, and that is whatever teams move on to the championships, they will meet their competition court side at Power Balance Pavilion Saturday, March 5, starting at 1 p.m.
Bella Vista’s fourth-seeded lady Broncos will enter their competition the biggest underdog against top-ranked St. Mary’s when they travel to UOP Wednesday, March 2. However, the lady Broncos will bring an eight-game winning streak with them, but will it be enough? St. Mary’s lady Rams haven’t lost a game since late-December, coming off a 22-game winning streak. The Broncos are a tenacious bunch of talented ladies and will be practicing with junior varsity boys’ counterparts up until their matchup with the Rams.

Bella Vista’s varsity gentlemen Broncos share a similar situation with their lady counterparts. The fifth-seed varsity team will travel to Antelope to square off against the fourth-seeded Titans. The Broncos have had a rough-and-tumble season and still managed to emerge the top-seeded team in the Fair Oaks area, and again like their lady counterparts, the question remains: Will it be see them through to another hard-fought victory? The tale will be told tonight when the Broncos tip-off against Antelope at 7 p.m.
Del Campo’s gentlemen Cougars haven’t had it any easier than their Fair Oaks rivals, yet they approach each game with a similar tenacity and drive to succeed. The sixth-seeded Cougars enter tonight’s second round playoffs game, traveling to meet third-seeded Cordova Lancers at 7 p.m. Del Campo’s .750 winning percentage is only slightly worse than Cordova’s .775.
Playoffs can be typically defined by last-minute, game-winning plays and are notorious for their upset victories. Whatever the outcome, we’d be interested to hear what have to think about the matchups.
