For Carmichael youths, there is such a thing as a free lunch.
This summer, the ’s Food Services Department is offering free lunch to all children at the Summer Fun Cafe, district officials announced.
Meals will be available to all children 18 and younger, according to a district news release. There is no enrollment, no paperwork and no income requirements for children to receive a free lunch. Children do not have to be enrolled in the San Juan Unified School District.
The cafe will operate 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday through Aug. 2 at at 3700 Garfield Avenue in Carmichael (at the corner of Garfield and Engle).
