Friday Night Special, 7/29: Family Assistance, Blues, Comedy Under The Stars
A look ahead at tonight's attractions in and around Fair Oaks.

The weekend is nearly upon us, it's Friday and after the work week finishes up, it may be time to unwind with something fun to do tonight. Whether it's comedy under the stars, summer music or giving to the needy, getting out for a little fun doesn't mean having to go too far.
First Day 2011 Community Event
presents First Day 2011, an outreach program designed to assist families with kids' basic back-to-school needs. Pre-approved families are invited to pick up backpacks and supplies at the event, which includes food, giant inflatables, face painting, games, crafts, haircuts and more. The event starts at 6 p.m. and goes till 9. Admission is free and donations will vary. For more information check out the church's website or call 916-536-5433.
Summer Music Series: Blues-A-Fuse
Piatti Ristorante & Bar is once again hosting music in its lovely courtyard. The music is free, but the food is not. Come for drinks and dinner, stay for some blues and make a night of it. For reservations and more information, call 916-649-8885 or check the main website.

Comedy Under the Stars
Come on out for a night of laughter with your family and friends, featuring comedians from all across the nation. Please purchase tickets in advance through the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District Office as soon as possible, for they're expected to sell out quickly. Food and drinks will be sold at the event and open seating starts at 7 p.m. The event is open to all ages. Ticket prices are on sale $15 per person or $42 for all three shows. No tickets available at the door.
