Man Gets Rude Awakening, Finds Stranger in Home
Not exactly the way one hopes to start the day.

A Carmichael family man received a rude awkening late last month when he discovered a strange man sitting in one of his dining room chairs.
It was around 5 a.m. on Nov. 21when the wayward man, Benjamin Klure, 45, was discovered in the Carmichael residence, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department report.
According to the report, Klure entered the residence through the unlocked front door and rummaged through the kitchen. When the victim discovered Klure, he immediately summoned deputies.

Upon arrival, deputies performed a search of Klure, uncovering a large hunting knife with a fixed blade approximately six inches long concealed inside a pocket of his jacket. Klure was then arrested and booked at the main jail.
Klure was charged with burglary, unlawful possession of a deadly weapon, and unauthorized entry into a dwelling, said Sheriff's spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos.

"That last charge is included as a safeguard because with burglary, you need to prove that the suspect had the specific intent to commit a theft or other felony," Ramos explained in an email.
In this case, Klure was acting irrationally, Ramos said, mumbling, going back and forth between being boisterous and withdrawn and was possibly under the influence of drugs.
"His exact intent was not known, although we think he was just looking for a warm place to be on a cold night," Ramos said.
