Rec and Park District Garage Sale Expected to be 'Huge'

Maybe it's not too much to say that this year's Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District "HUGE Garage Sale" intends to live up to its namesake.

With all 69 booth spaces reserved, FORPD Recreation superintendent Katy Albers is expecting a minimum of 500 people to show up. In years past, Albers has seen averages of 1,000 people attend.

"The () parking lot is usually packed," Albers said.

So is the parking lot across the street, she said. FORPD made it a point to put the word out in a number of publications, including Craigslist, The Sacramento Bee and Fair Oaks Patch. She also purchased extra banners.

"We would like to see it filled," Albers said. "We want vendors to be able to sell all their goods."

The annual event begins Saturday, June 2, at 8 a.m. and lasts till 1 p.m. in the parking lot of New Life Community Church.
