House Fire Extinguished on El Camino Avenue
Fire deemed accidental though arson is possible.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District firefighters extinguished a home fire early Monday morning on El Camino Avenue in Carmichael.
At 5 a.m., firefighters responded to the report of a structure fire at 4833 El Camino Ave. On arrival, Metro firefighters found a single family home well involved with fire.

Firefighters were made aware by neighbors that the home was vacant. Firefighters searched the home finding no one inside and extinguished the fire.
Due to the in Carmichael, alert Sacramento County Sheriff’s officers questioned a male leaving the area. He was cleared as a suspect but identified.

Metro Fire investigators found that the home was vacant and under renovation. Investigators deemed the fire accidental, pending analysis of evidence collected and further witness statements.
Fire crews estimated the fire loss to be $105,000.
The fire was extinguished using a single alarm of 24 firefighters. One firefighter suffered a minor burn to the hand while extinguishing the fire; no other injuries were reported.
