Jesuit Falls in Heartbreaker
Marauders fight back in fourth quarter but can't end losing streak against Sheldon.
The Jesuit Marauders basketball team had mighty Sheldon sweating it out late in the fourth quarter in Saturday's CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I championship, with the game tied at 43 with 1:49 left to play.
But as they had all night, the Huskies just made baskets when they needed to and the Marauders simply ran out of time, falling 49-44 at Power Balance Pavilion.
Unlike last year's section championship game between these same two teams, which saw the teams combine for 153 points, this was a low-scoring affair, with many missed shots and sloppy play on both sides. Jesuit shot 15 for 52 (.288); their opponents were not much better at 17 for 53 (.321) and may have just been lucky to escape with the win.

Last year, the Marauders ran out of gas in the fourth quarter. This time they seemed to hold back during the first three quarters but got aggressive in the fourth, albeit perhaps a bit late.
Seniors Parker Uu and Brian Glodowski led Jesuit with 12 points each and seven and six rebounds, respectively. Fellow senior Bryce Pressley added nine points, but was slowed by a bad ankle.

Marauders coach Greg Harcos appeared frustrated most of the evening, exhorting officials for questionable foul calls and his players.
"Last year, we were out of it early but tonight it went to the end," he said."They just made plays down the end and we didn't."
Jesuit was playing in their 16th title game and seeking their first large-school title since 2000, The Sacramento Bee reported. The Marauders last won a section title in 2007 in Division II.
With a final round appearance, Jesuit qualifies for Nor Cals next week and should find out its opponent later today.
