No Rush to Develop in Madison Mall Shopping Center

The old McDonald's has been demolished, but no plans have yet emerged for its replacement.

Cost control may be playing the biggest role when deciding what will replace the now-demolished site of where a , officials close to the project say.

Right now the most important task is ensuring the area is clean and void of any debris leftover from the demolition of the old fast food restaurant, said Madison Mall property manager Laurinda Stout.

Stout, a manager for the shopping center's management provider, GRE Management Services, said the project isn't as much a priority as making sure the money is there to propery fund it when an ETA is set. As of now there is still no estimated time for anything to be developed, Stout said.

"We're in no rush," she said.

No preliminary plans have been finalized nor is there even a basic idea of what type of business should replace the old fast food restaurant, Stout explained.
