Man Found Dead Outside Carmichael DMV Office

Coroner identifies man as William Flores; CHP says it doesn't appear to be foul play.

A 57-year-old Carmichael man was found dead this morning outside the Carmichael , California Highway Patrol officers have confirmed.

The Sacramento County Coroner's Office identified the man as William Flores.

At about 7 a.m., the DMV building manager arrived at work and found Flores near the front door with a gun in his hand, said CHP Sgt. David Barker. Officers arrived on the scene and found Flores to have a single gunshot wound to his head with a 22 caliber revolver.

Barker said the wound appeared to be self-inflicted and that no foul play is suspected.

Employees entered the officer through a back door and the office was closed until about 9 a.m., Barker said.
