Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Walnut Ave.
Julian Matthew Carter, 26, was wearing all-black clothing when he was hit by a car while crossing the street early Friday morning.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has identified a pedestrian killed when he was hit by a car in Carmichael Friday morning as Julian Matthew Carter, 26.
The accident took place just before 4:30 a.m. on Walnut Avenue north of Engle Road.
A brown Toyota Camry was heading north on Walnut when Carter suddenly stepped out in front of the car, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol said.

The driver, a 43-year-old Carmichael man, was going about 40 mph when he struck Carter, causing him to flip up against the windshield and over the car. Carter, who was wearing black clothing and a black beanie hat when he was hit, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP spokesperson said there was no indication that the driver was at fault or that alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident.
