
A Carmichael man sustained second and third degree burns to his arms and chest late Friday night in a home fire at 5630 Kiva Drive, Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials reported.
When firefighters arrived on the scene at about 11:25 p.m., they reported a well involved house fire with flames more than 50 feet high. At the same time, dispatchers were on the phone with a man saying he was burned from the fire, officials said.
Crews attacked the fire and contained it to the garage area of the home with some extension to the kitchen and heat damage to the overhang of the neighbors house.

The burn victim, a man in his 20’s, was transported to the University of California, Davis Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this time and his identity has not been released, officials said.
The fire was determined to be accidental and caused when gasoline spilled on a hot surface during vehicle repair, officials said. The estimated damage was $80,000.
