Mira Loma Athletics Gets Grant

Matadors awarded $2,500 California Casualty Thomas R. Brown Athletics Grant.

's has been awarded a $2,500 California Casualty Thomas R. Brown Athletics Grant, the organization announced.

The Matadors soccer program will use the money to begin renovations on a new soccer field for the boys and girls soccer teams, said Shelly Melgoza, Mira Loma's athletic director and boys and girls soccer manager.

The new field is located on campus at the corner of Edison Avenue and Becerra Way. The completion date is scheduled for Oct. 13.

Mira Loma was one of 10 schools in California, Arizona, Oregon and Colorado to receive the award.

Headquartered in San Mateo, Calif., with Service Centers in Arizona, Colorado and Kansas, California Casualty is a 97 year-old company providing auto and home insurance products to educators, law enforcement, fire fighters and nurses in 44 states.
