Monday's Cheapest Gas: $3.51

Today could be one of those days with a majority of time spent behind the wheel.

It's a return to the work week as well as a return to school for many Fair Oaks students.

Those parents prepared to take the trip to their kids' school may want to fuel in preparation.

Unfortunately the beginning of a school year hasn't made gas prices any less expensive. In fact, it may have been the exact opposite.

According to Gas Buddy, gas prices in the area have gone up since the end of last week.

Here's a look at some of the least expensive places to fuel up before hitting the road today.

ARCO

• $3.51 - 4400 Sunrise Boulevard and Winding Way (as of Sunday evening).
• $3.53 - 4625 San Juan Avenue and Winding Way (as of Monday morning).
• $3.53 - 8901 Madison and Hazel avenues (as of Monday morning).

Safeway (3 cents savings with membership card)

• $3.55 - 5450 Dewey Drive and Madison Ave. (as of Sunday morning).
