The sentiment is especially fresh this time of year, as  and  seniors get ready to graduate this week.

Many seniors have already worked out their college plans, some sticking close and some traveling far to continue their education next year.

Not surprisingly, California schools drew the most Fair Oaks students, with Sonoma State University, California State University, Chico and California State University, Sacramento drawing the most graduates. A number of students will be crossing the Golden Gate Bridge to attend San Francisco State University and the Martinez Bridge for UC Santa Cruz. 

Not that all grads are staying close: You can find Fair Oaks high school alums in New York, Alabama, South Carolina and Idaho, attending places like St. John's, University of North Alabama, University of Charleston and Brigham Young.
