One Month of Farmers Market; How's It Doing?
The Village Farmers Market celebrates its one-month anniversary Wednesday. How successful do you think it's been?

Wednesday marks a special day for The Village Farmers Market as it celebrates its one-month anniversary in Plaza Park. By all accounts, the market seems to be a success with local and Sacramento-area patrons. As the market moves forward, Fair Oaks Patch wants to know what customers think work, what doesn't work and what can be done to improve the market overall.
Think of this as a place to express the most-wanted desires for a local farmers market as well as a place to constructively critique it.
The market includes a number of main-stay attractions, including a variety of produce stands, locally produced organic honey, cheeses and salsa stands and even a brick oven pizzeria stand. And that's just naming a few. There is live music, assorted gifts and trinkets stands as well.

What no one seems to dispute is how nice it is for Fair Oaks to have its own farmers market and for many, it's just right down the street. For others, it's an excuse to come down to The Village and see what's happening in the heart of their community. Local business owners can't be too upset with the extra attention, either.
Market coordinators expect there to be room for more stands as the market expands and takes further root, which leaves room for us to speculate and opine on how that room should be utilized. Perhaps locally produced meats? Maybe seafood? There's plenty of ideas floating around out there, so let us know what you think in the comments section below.
