Past Chamber President Passes Away

Barry Smith, a past president and community leader, has passed away, chamber officials announced.

Smith, 79, died March 28 after a long illness, chamber officials said. He was a member and leader in the Carmichael and Fair Oaks chambers of commerce.

Smith was married to his wife Phyllis and the couple had three sons. Smith, a Stanford University alumnus, owned Barry Smith Realty that served the Carmichael and Fair Oaks communities.

His life was celebrated earlier this month at . Smith was also a member of in Carmichael.
