Carmichael Night at River Cats Game A Success

Honorary mayor Pauline Gilmour threw ceremonial first pitch.

WEST SACRAMENTO - Carmichael was celebrated Thursday during a Sacramento River Cats game at Raley Field.

Community leaders including Sacramento County Supervisor Susan Peters and Carmichael Chamber of Commerce President Chris Meyer stood on the field and were introduced by the public address announcer.

threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game. Carmichael photographer sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch.

"The cheering when the people were introduced from Carmichael shows we're truly one people united," Gilmour said.

As for the game, the River Cats lost 6-3 to the Oklahoma City RedHawks. Oklahoma City got home runs by Brandon Barnes, Brian Dopirak and Max Ramirez while Josh Donaldson and Shane Peterson homered for the Cats.
