Poll: What Crimes Vex Carmichael Most?

Carmichael merchants and locals have their opinions about which area crimes they'd like to see curtailed. What about you?

Fair Oaks Boulevard merchants are finding an increasing unsavory element invading (quite literally at times) their establishments and sadly it's something they feel is not all that out of the ordinary for the area.

Just out front of comic shop , a number of graffiti tags are visible. The store's owner, Avrom Oliver, explains his business like others in close proximity over the past few years have seen an escalation in vandalism, graffiti and theft.

Oliver had his storefront windows broken in recent years prompting him to remove the panes all together. Like the comic shop, Oliver explains other local shop owners have had to deal with unlawful entries.

Just down the street  recently had a flat-screen television stolen. Weeks later the deli was again violated when would-be thieves tried to abscond with a larger replacement TV. The only thing that stopped them, Oliver explains, was fact the TV was too large for the thieves to move before law enforcement caught them in the act.

Though the crimes at times have been thwarted, the issues persist, Oliver said.
