It's that time of the year when college basketball fans and even non-fans in Carmichael and around the country fill out their brackets for the NCAA Tournament, aka .

The four No. 1 seeds are Kentucky, North Carolina, Michigan State and Syracuse, although the Orange were dealt a big blow when it was announced that one of their top players, Fab Melo, would be out of the tournament due to eligibility issues.

Chuck Hayes attended Kentucky, which is a favorite.

"We're the most talented team and as good as any other in college basketball," he said. "But it's so unpredictable and that's why people watch."

That was evident with Friday's huge upset by Norfolk State, seeded No. 15, over No. 2 Missouri.

Marcus Thornton went to Louisiana State, which didn't make it in this year.

"I'm picking FSU (Florida State) because they play hard and are sound defensively," he said. "I'm picking a sleeper."
