The cross country team is getting ready for a Sub-Sectional meet on Saturday at Angels Camp.
Leading the way for the team are juniors George Halvorsen and Macaulay Porter.
Porter helped lead the Rio girls to their league championship for the second year in a row. The boys finished second in the league behind Whitney of Rocklin.

"The varsity boys and girls hope to go to state but we have to go strong," Porter said. "We've had good times."
Halvorsen said he took seventh place at the prestigious Mt. Sac meet earlier this season.

The section championships are the following week at Folsom High School.
