Rooster Call 7/13: Collage Journeys, Summer Mixer, Sierra Nevada Night

Wednesday: The middle of the week. It's typically not known for being a day much to celebrate, but there are exceptions to be made. Perhaps today is that day. It's an eventful day in Fair Oaks with a number of exciting ways to spend the day, including the Fair Oaks summer mixer, Sierra Nevada Beer day at Fabian's Italian Bistro and much more.

Journeys in Collage

The Orangevale Library at 6826 Hazel Avenue hosts an ArtWorks presentation for school-age kids interested in exploring their creative interests through the medium of collage. Create your masterpiece from a variety of materials. Artists supply materials needed for the program. The program begins at 3:30 p.m. and goes for an hour and is free of charge.

Sierra Nevada Beer Night at Fabian's

The fine folks over at  are cordially extending an invitation to stop by and sample some of Sierra Nevada's select brews, including Torpedo, Old Chico, Kellerweis and  Northern Hemisphere Harvest. Come enjoy some fine beers and stay for some fine dining as well. Chef Tom will be rolling out a special creation in celebration of the night - his special Torpedo-braised Short Ribs. The $10 per person includes  four beer samples and an appetizer. Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. and go on till 8.

Huge Summer Mixer

The presents its largest mixer of the year so far with the Huge Summer Mixer. Come bump elbows with some familiar faces and join Clean & Sober Living, Safeway, U.S. Bank, Great Clips, 4G Wireless, Trends-n-Treats and other merchants as they join in to sponsor. The event will be held outdoors inside the Madison Promenade, next to Peets Coffee. Look for the crowd and bring plenty of business cards.
