Rooster Call 8/10: Fire and Ice, Craftology Mixer, More

It's that special day of the week, affectionately referred to as "hump day," otherwise known as Wednesday. It's going to be another warm one in the area, with temperatures reaching 92 degrees, according to The National Weather Service.
Today, local craft and learning center, Craftology will be hosting a mixer in conjunction with the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce. The Orangevale Community Center will present a course on craft building with dry ice. And blues comes alive at the San Juan Club tonight.

Fire and Ice
Kids now have a chance to get in touch with their inner mad scientist when the Orangevale Community Center presents its Fire and Ice course. Kids will create fog storms, bubbling potions that trap gas inside and amazing chemical reactions starting around 3:30 p.m. The course lasts one hour, is free and open to all ages.
Craftology Mixer
The event is "Discover the Creativity in You!" and sample projects and special offers will be featured. This mixer is hosted by Diana Collins at , which is in the same parking lot as Russ Monroe's Funeral Home. Easy access. Excellent networking opportunity. Blues Nights at The San Juan Club
The title pretty much says it all. Unwind with some live blues performed by some of the area's talented musicians. Get bold and give it a try yourself. The nights are warm, but the drinks are cold at The San Juan club. Music starts at 7 p.m. and goes till abour 11 every Wednesday, so stop by and don't forget your guitar and/or your harmonica.
