Rooster Call 8/23: Story Time, 9-Ball, Spaghetti Feed

Welcome to another edition of the Fair Oaks Rooster Call. It's back to school for the youth and it's just the beginning of another work week for those not in school. To compensate for the sobering news, we've assembled a few events happening in the area to help you unwind and otherwise have a good time.

Kids' Storytime
It's a morning filled with songs, stories and fun for the young ones at Border's Book store. Children will be led through the program by a cheerful staff member. The event is open to all ages and is free of charge. For more information check out the website or call 916-564-0168.

Mayoral Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser
Honorary Mayor Candidate, Linda Miller is hosting a reunion spaghetti fundraising feed. "Let's get all of our friends together and have dinner!" according to a Chamber of Commerce release. The cost is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. Ever wonder what your old classmates are up to? Maybe and old college teammate that you have lost track of, or a girl or boy scout troop that you want to keep in touch with, give them a call, and celebrate with a wonderful Spagetti Dinner. The Chamber will be doing the cooking, and you get the opportunity to catch up with old friends. Tickets available at the Fair Oaks Chamber office Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. The office is in the Village at 10224 Fair Oaks Blvd, 967-2903. Info: fairoaks.mayor@gmail.com.
9-Ball Pool Tournament
Think you have what it takes to go one-on-one with some of Fair Oaks' finest 9-ball pool players? Maybe you should consider signing up for the 9-Ball Tournament. Entry fees cost $5 and the tournament lasts until there's only one champion (or until the bar closes). The tournaments are scheduled every Tuesday night, so even if you're not quite champion tonight, there's always next time.
