We're half-way through the week and the weekend is quickly approaching. Yet why wait for the weekend when there are some fun, informative and exciting events happening today?
Chamber of Commerce members will celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of a new therapeutic massage clinic. Eskaton Community Center will host an instructional seminar on how to cope with the loss of a loved one. The Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church will present an introductory course on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Ribbon Cutting for To Heaven & Back
Newly inducted chamber member and chiropractic manipulative therapist Beth Andrus will be opening her new business To Heaven & Back and the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce will be there to help her celebrate. Come and welcome Andrus and check out her massage studio along with Chamber directors and ambassadors, Honorary Mayor Rand Jacobs, friends and neighbors. The cutting of said ribbon is scheduled to take place at 12:30 p.m. and will likely last about an hour. The studio is located at 6707 Winding Way. For more information call 916-806-3301.
Life Beyond Loss
Larry Dawes, MSW discusses "how to face the realities of loss that come with aging." Join Dawes as he leads an in-depth discussion on the topic of grieving and how to heal using effective coping tools. Adjusting to major changes in health, home or family can take time, reflection and courage, Dawes explains. Route 56
Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church is inviting all 5th and 6th graders out to make some new friends and find out more about the word of Christ at an age-appropriate level. Kids can enjoy snacks, play games and learn about Christian living, according to the church's website. The program lasts about an hour. Come a bit early for open gym from 6:30 p.m. to 6:55 p.m. and enjoy running around a bit and being active before the start of the session.
