Rooster Call: Rascally Rabbit, Summer Physical, Concert in The Park

It's shaping up to be another beautiful day in Fair Oaks. Why not get out there and enjoy it? Temperatures are supposed to reach a pleasant 85 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. From plays with puppets, to concerts in the park, there's plenty of ways to keep you busy in Fair Oaks today.

Zomo the Trickster Rabbit

The Luce Puppet Company present the story of Zomo the Trickster Rabbit, a West African folktale. The show includes lots of interaction for kids to exercise their imaginations. Here's what the production company's website has to say about the show: "Clever Zomo the Rabbit thinks he’s the fastest, smartest rabbit in all of Africa, but wants more... Perhaps wisdom! So he goes to Nyame the Creator and finds out what he needs to do. Follow Zomo in his lively adventures with Fish, Cow, and Leopard -all in the best trickster tradition! Experience the exciting colors, patterns, and music of West Africa." The show begins at 3:30 p.m. and goes till 4:30 p.m. The show is open to all.

Summer Physical for Student Athletes

OK, so maybe it isn't all fun and games in Fair Oaks today. It's that special time of year for student athletes at Bella Vista High School. Students wanting to participate in one or more of the school's athletic programs are welcome to come to the small gym for a physical tonight. Physicals cost $25 and those wishing to participate should make sure to be at the school no later than 5:30 p.m. For more information and contacts check out the school website.

Concerts in the Park

Another Thursday means another concert in the park, brought to you by the fine folks over at The Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce. This week the Chamber welcomes Folsom-based band, Azuar. The eight-member band will be playing their hits. Come on out for some rock and roll music with your family and friends. Bring a picnic, blankets and chairs for a complete experience. There's also food onsite for purchase. The music starts at 7 p.m. and is open to all.
