Second Candidate Files for Honorary Mayor

Jeff Wagner owns plumbing business.

A second candidate has filed an application to run for , the announced.

Jeff Wagner, who is also known as "Jeff Da Plumber," joins of SMUD to compete for the title of honorary mayor.  Wagner is the owner of Wagner Plumbing and has been a member of the Carmichael Chamber for two years.

Wagner said he looks forward to the challenge and that he's easy to spot around town in his yellow truck with an American flag.

"All the wonderful customers I have in Carmichael... said I should do it," Wagner said. "It raises money for the chamber and I wanted to throw my hat in."

Wagner said if selected, he would like to address the homeless population in Carmichael.

On a lighter note, Wagner said that if he wins, he would be willing to let the losers shave his head.

Applicants must live or work in Carmichael, be at least 18 years of age and be a chamber member. The applicant who turns in the most money for the chamber fundraiser wins.

Previous year's candidates held various fundraisers as a way to bring in money. Each dollar raised counts for one vote.

The deadline to file for honorary mayor is Sept. 15 and there is a fee of $30. The race ends Nov. 11, and the winner will be announced at the Nov. 15 luncheon.
