It's totally normal to have thunderstorms in June, right?

The National Weather Service is predicting a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in Fair Oaks throughout the day that will give way to a 90 percent chance for rain by the evening.

Oh, and by the way, it's nearly July, just in case there was any confusion.

That's right. Residents in Fair Oaks can expect mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 76, south winds from 7 to 9 mph becoming west and new rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms, according to NOAA.

Summer storms are somewhat of a rarity in the area and though it may put a damper on vacation plans, it does present a unique opportunity to capture some particularly beautiful pictures.

NOAA also predicts the inclement weather anomaly wont last long. By this time tomorrow, it's likely the weather will have passed and those classic sunny skies will be back.

Right now, a small band of thunderstorms is heading toward Woodland and Yuba and will likely make its way through Fair Oaks within the next couple of hours.
