Sheriff's Search Area for Sex Assault Suspect
The male suspect grabbed the victim by her neck and told her he intended to rape and kill her near American River College, Sheriff's officials said.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is currently seeking a white male suspect connected with a sexual assault of a woman walking near American River College on Monday.
According to a press release issued by Sheriff's spokesman Jason Ramos, shortly before 7 p.m., a female adult walking along the Arcade Creek trail near American River College was grabbed from behind by a man who put his arm around the victim’s neck, started choking her and held a knife to her side.
The release states the suspect told the victim that he intended to rape and kill her. The victim struggled with the suspect throughout the encounter, and was ultimately able to break away from him. She then ran away and the suspect fled the scene, according to the release.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 24 and 28 years of age. He is between 5-feet-8-inches and 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 180-200 lbs. He is described as having short, shaved blonde hair, and was clean-shaven but appeared dirty and unkempt. According to the release, the man wore a light-colored T-shirt and baggy blue jean shorts, and was riding a blue BMX-style bicycle.
