SMUD Customers in Carmichael Have Power Restored After Outage

Cause is downed power line near Garden Highway area.

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District has restored power to most of the 24,000 customers who lost power this morning around the Sacramento area, including parts of Carmichael, a district spokesman said.

The outage was reported about 7:45 a.m. after a large power line was down at Grove and Lampassas avenues near the Garden Highway area and Natomas, said SMUD spokesman Chris Capra. Parts of Sacramento and the Carmichael, Natomas, Arden, Cal Expo and Town and Country areas saw power cut.

Most of the affected customers had their power back by about 8:15 a.m., Capra said.
