St. John, OLA Basketball Teams Play for Championships Tonight
Carmichael schools have boys and girls teams in PAL finals.
Two basketball teams from and one from have advanced in the Parochial Athletic League playoffs for Sacramento-area private K-8 schools and will play in the championships tonight.
The junior varsity girls team at St. John’s beat St. Charles on Saturday and Holy Spirit on Sunday, St. John's parent Nikki Gracey said. They play for the PAL championship today at 5 p.m. vs. St. Ignatius at Christian Brothers High School.
The St. John's varsity boys squad beat Country Day on Sunday, Gracey said. They play for the championship tonight against St. Ignatius at at 7:30 p.m.

The junior varsity boys squad at Our Lady of the Assumption School, also located in Carmichael, plays for the JV championship against Sacred Heart at 6:30 p.m. at Jesuit.
The St. John’s junior varsity boys lost the semifinal Sunday to Sacred Heart, Gracey said.
