Sturgis Family Cat Finds a New Home

According to her new owner, Sheba is adjusting to her new environment.

Sheba, the family , has found a new home.

The black and white tuxedoed cat had been in the care of Kathryn and Bud Beebe following the sudden death of Carole Sturgis nearly one month ago. When the Beebes started looking for a good family to adopt Sheba, the community responded.

In the end, Sheba was adopted by Citrus Heights resident, Donna Thayer. Though the transition will likely take some time, and Sheba is still a little shy, Thayer said, the kitty is taking to her new environment.

"She is proving to be a wonderful addition to my home," Thayer said. "The circumstances that brought us together are so tragic; I just hope that the memory of Carole Sturgis lives on in animal rights advocates everywhere!"
