Then & Now: The Fair Oaks Fruit Company Circa 1915
The Fruit Company was a hub for commerce and employment for 50 years in Fair Oaks.

For 50 years The Fair Oaks Fruit Company was a hub for local produce and commerce.
"It's where all the citrus, olives and other crops were processed from 1900 to the 1950's," said Fair Oaks historian, Jim Pearce. "Many of the old time residents of Fair Oaks had their summer jobs working in the processing buildings."

"I remember reading somewhere that the whole facility was moved to Red Bluff," Pearce said.
The cinder block building at the right of the photo was the company office building, Pearce said, and was located in the middle of the parking lot east of the Nascar store. The road in front of the processing buildings was Pennsylvania Avenue.
