The Rooster Call: Graduation By Day, Music By Night

Discover what's happening in Fair Oaks quickly and be on your way.

Welcome to Thursday, Fair Oaks. The sun is out (finally), the birds are chirping (and crowing) and it's another day filled with plenty to keep you busy. It's one day closer to Friday, and with Bella Vista High School graduating, a little blues and even a concert in the park, it may be smooth sailing into Friday night.

Congratulations to Bella Vista's 2011 graduating class. Today these students take their first steps into an ever-expanding, ever-changing world. Events kick off at 8 a.m. and go till 10 a.m. in BV's "Great Court" (quad).  Seating begins at 7 a.m. For more information, be sure to check BV's graduation FAQ.

Blues Night at The San Juan Club

Have a little blues in your soul? Come grab a tall cold one at and enjoy some of the area's blues musicians tell their tales while their guitars gently weep. Like every Thursday, things get going right around 7 p.m. and go till about 11. Be sure to get there early to stake out a good spot. There's no cover charge and the company is usually pretty good.

Concert in The Park

Sponsored by the in conjunction with and the Fair Oaks Foundation for Leisure and the Art, the first concert in Fair Oaks Village Park debuts with Todd Morgan and the Emblems. Bring a picnic, a comfortable blanket and some good company. It should be a good one. Concerts in the park will go every Thursday till August 25 and start promptly at 7 p.m. and go till about 9. Be sure to come early to find that perfect spot on the grass to stretch out and relax.
