'The Totally True Story of Cinderella and the Prince' Auditions Begin Monday

 is gearing up for its newest play, holding open auditions for parts in "The Totally True Story of Cinderella and the Prince," beginning Monday at 6 p.m.

The auditions will take place Monday 10 and 17, said theater director Dana Hendry.

New Star is inviting all children out to audition for this new rendition of Cinderella, stating there are lots of great roles for boys and girls ages 4 to adult.

Here's what New Star has to say about its new play:

An original script written by Melanie Thompson based upon the classic children's story. In this fresh, funny musical take  
on a beloved fairy tale, Ellie thinks she's just an ordinary princess with an ordinary, boring old King and Queen for 
parents ... but the story of how her mom and dad met is a LOT more exciting than she ever could have imagined! As she 
investigates, Ellie is pulled into a past full of scullery maids and princes, fairy godmothers and talking animals, golden 
shoes and magic spells... and she discovers that true stories are hard to pin down, but there's more than one way to a 
happy ending.

The free auditions will take place Mondays from 7-9pm and some thursdays from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. Rehearsals take place at Fair Oaks Community Clubhouse, 7997 California Ave.  

New Star welcomes all youth regardless of experience-level and all who audition are accepted. To audition you need to register with Fair Oaks Recreation District at www.fairoakspark.org.
