5 Things to Know in Fair Oaks and Carmichael This Week

Perseid Meteor Shower: If you missed it last night, there's still time to see around 60 "shooting stars" per hour during this year's Perseid Meteor Shower. Monday is the last day for best viewing. Read more about the shower here. 

Azuar in Fair Oaks: The Fair Oaks concert in the park this week will feature Azuar, a band that features 60s music to today's hits. Concerts start at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 at Village Park, 4238 Main St.

Boys II Men Concert: OK, this one isn't in Fair Oaks or Carmichael, but it's close. In nearby Citrus Heights Boys II Men will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15. Find out more here. 

Movie in the Park: "The Avengers" will be shown during the Fair Oaks Movies in the Park event at sunset (around 8 p.m.) Friday, Aug. 16 at Village Park, 4238 Main St. Find out more here. 

Capitol Pops in Carmichael: The Carmichael concert in the park this week will feature Capitol Pops Concert Band, an all-volunteer band. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18 at Carmichael Park, 5750 Grant St.
