Update: Man Shot by Deputies at Marconi Avenue Apt. Arrested

Initial incident occurred March 25.

A man who was last month as he charged them holding a knife was arrested Tuesday, the sheriff's department announced.

Sheriff’s Homicide detectives arrested Robert Reese, 42, on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, Dep. Jason Ramos said in a news release. Reese was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and is being held on $1 million bail.

On March 25, deputies responded to an apartment complex at 5018 Marconi Ave., following reports that a man that had fired an automatic weapon. As Reese approached them with a knife, two deputies fired their service weapons at him and he was struck once in the upper body, Ramos said.

Reese was hospitalized for his non-life threatening injury and was recently medically cleared for incarceration, at which time he was placed under arrest, Ramos said.
