Victim Claims Foul Play in Case of Missing Jewelry

Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies are trying to figure out how a man's jewelry ended up missing without any evidence of forced entry into the his home.

The incident allegedly occurred on May 18, but for reasons still unclear to officers wasn't reported till nearly one week later, according to Sheriff's reports.

According to the report, at approximately 9 p.m., unknown suspect(s) entered the victim's Sunset Avenue residence by unknown means. Suspect(s) only stole items of jewelry from victim's bedroom. The entry and exit points were unknown and nothing was ransacked.

"The victim stated that he believes he may have left a door unlocked," Sheriff's spokesman Jason Ramos said.

Ramos also explained there were no signs of damage to the home.
