Victory Christian School Off Lockdown After Deputies Search

Garfield Avenue school on lockdown for almost two hours.

has been taken off of voluntary lockdown this afternoon after Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies searched for a man who ran from probation officers for about two hours, a sheriff's spokesman said.

The Garfield Avenue school was placed on lockdown at about 12:05 p.m. after a man ran from officers at North Avenue and Cabriolet Court, said Dep. Jason Ramos. The man threw a gun at police and jumped over fences in the residential area.

The suspect was not found and the search was called off about 1:45 p.m., ending the lockdown at VCS, Ramos said.
