The existing park is staffed with part-time employees and is open 7 days a week, between 35 and 45 hours depending on the season, district official Elizabeth Crisante has said. The skate park services more than 5,000 participants a year and is open free of charge to users with boards, roller blades and scooters.

The park has begun to generate revenue through fee based programs but is not financially self-sufficient, Crisante said.
