Wanted: Your Videos, Nominations for 'Whiz Kids'

Happy Monday, Carmichael Patch readers. It's another sunny, beautiful day in the 95608.

I'm looking for your videos of life in Carmichael and nominations of outstanding local youths. This site is a community forum, where you and I can share news and information by and for Carmichael residents.

In the coming weeks, we will be posting more videos documenting life in Carmichael. We want to see the moments you've captured on camera, whether silly or serious.

Did you find yourself on the scene of a breaking news event with your trusty cell phone video camera? Did your band play a great gig in town or just rock out at a rehearsal in your friend's garage? Youth sports games, amateur fashion shows, first-person confessionals...we know you've got them. Now is your chance for your 15 minutes in the spotlight.

Send your video clips or links to Victor.Calderon@patch.com. If you're fired up about an issue in Carmichael and want to give your two cents, you can do your talking to the camera and send us a video letter to the editor.

As for outstanding youths, you may have noticed our new feature "."We need you to nominate Carmichael residents 18 and under who should be recognized.

It could be your own child, a relative, a neighbor or a family friend. If you know a kid who has won an award, volunteers, led their team to victory or has done something cool, please let me know.
