A look back on the week ending June 25.

The week ending June 25 was underscored with news about and related to the American River, Sacramento firefighters, county deliberations and developments and that’s just the half of it. It’s another pleasant weekend in Fair Oaks, so after getting outside and enjoying the weekend spend a little time seeing what made local headlines this week.
- – After 21 years Frank Carl retires as the Sacramento County Agriculture Commissioner.
- – Sacramento County Regional Parks has closed the Sunrise Boulevard boat access due to uncommonly high water levels along the American River.
- – Unregulated medical marijuana dispensaries operating in Sacramento County operating illegally will receive an ordinance hearing by the end of July.
- – Congressman Dan Lungren’s (R-Gold River) assets are estimated at somewhere between $17,000 and $81,000, according to an advocacy group that tracks lawmaker finances and political contributions.
- – In an ongoing series Patch examines how Sacramento schools raise independent funds to benefit their programs.
